Emefiele Has Hidden Agenda – Femi Fani-Kayode

Wednesday, former aviation minister Femi Fani-Kayode accused Godwin Emefiele, governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), of having a hidden agenda.

According to reports, the spokesperson for the Tinubu-Shettima Campaign Council stated this in response to Emefiele’s introduction of the redesigned naira. Fani-Kayode, during an interview with Channels Television, stated that Emefiele’s policies are questionable. He added that the policies are an attempt to “create chaos in this country and pave the way for something entirely different.”

“This is what I am observing, and I must say that I find the current central bank governor’s policies to be dubious. I do not question the policy itself, but rather its timing. People are suffering, going through hell, and achieving almost nothing, and I’ve known since Christmas that this is what they would do.” According to Fani-Kayode, Emefiele’s recent actions have been dictated by those who are supporting him.

He added, “Yes, we will ultimately require a cashless policy, but why is it being implemented at this critical time? It will result in nothing but suffering, resentment, and hatred not only of the ruling party (the All Progressives Congress), but of each and every member of the ruling class. And I’m here on your show accusing the central bank governor of having a secret agenda.
